Not going well and another idiot referee

Another defeat and this time away on the road to lowly Sheffield Wednesday losing 2-1. It was really disappointing this afternoon, the side lost the match in the second half as the Owls showed more desire and determination to win the game. The half time team talk from under pressure Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws worked and the home side came out in the second half with fire in their bellies.

Two headed goals cancelled out Wes Hoolahan’’s goal in the first half, a nice finish after an assist from Keigan Parker. Matters were made worse with Keith Southern picking up an injury in the first half, they keep on pilling up, Jackson, Evatt, Morrell, Burgess are all still out.

Another injury in the first half was to Mr Kettle the referee, he had been doing well up to the injury and limped off to be replaced by Mr G Atkins. He was dire to say the least. It doesn”t help having to deal with an idiot referee when we also have to deal with our Chairman the tight fisted pleb who won”t spend any money on new players which are so desperately needed!

Anyway here is a picture of Karl Oyston in his younger days with it looks like Geoffrey the butler out of the Fresh prince of Bel-Air, same hair do too!

It’s now 8 games since a win, tonight we gave West Brom a real good run for their money. Battering them in the second half we were really unlucky to not grab a goal to make it 2-1. Anyway the barmy army roles onto Sheffield Wednesday in a game we have to win!

Keigan Parker and Roberto Baggio

Another draw at Bloomers against a very physical Crystal Palace who have the been the best side to visit the seaside this season. With no Andy Morrell and Ben Burgess things are getting desperate upfront. It was Scott Vernon and Keigan Parker to lead the line yesterday, who amassed two shots between them all afternoon. As the players left the pitch I noticed something about the diminutive Parker.

The similarities end there.

After missing the last match due to picking up a suspension from his sending off against Coventry Kaspars Gorkss has put himself back into contention for the Palace match after goal for Latvia tonight. The Latvians went down 3-1 against Denmark with Kaspars goal in the second half making the score 2-1. He”ll be now looking to regain his place in the side over loanee Matt Jackson which from his last performance is deserved.

Also looking to get back into the side it Ian Evatt who has returned to training following an ankle, leg, kee injury, it’’s going to be nearer to December before the big man returns.

Ian Holloway on the South Stand

‘One of the biggest characters in football visited Bloomfeild Road last week, Ian Holloway manager of Plymouth, I”ve you”ve not seen big Ol” in action have a look at some of his videos on You Tube, the best the one where he falls off his chair.

This week Roy Keane commented that football had lost its soul but as long as people like Ol” are in the game it will alway have soul. Ol commented that ”It was quite surreal - they”ve done all one side and not the other. They haven”t been beaten there for over a year - and no wonder.” Which I suppose is a bit of a big up” for the home fans, the atmosphere at the game was good but imagine what it could be like with a couple more stands.

Which reminds me of this cracking blog / site with all the promises and articles about the south stand, quite a few quotes from KO. ”He confirmed that if the crowds stay at the level they were against Port Vale on Saturday, then he would have no choice but to rush on with the building of a new South Stand, check the site out at the sound stand story.

The South African born left winger is know for his winner in the 1953 cup final where Pool beat Bolton 4-3, coming back from being 1-3 down. PNE V Blackpool

Although its some time away, our friends down the road have started to advertise early for the PNE V Blackpool match in December billing it as a reason to buy a half season ticket!

Things must be bad down the road for Paul Simpson  if the board is advising by promotion other teams, PNE have only scored 11 goals so far this season and 6 of them came in the last game. It’’s going to take alot to ”ignite the passion” at Deepdale, maybe a gas leak!’

Wake Up Karl Oyston

Our chairman Karl Oyston has today explained that it’’s been too expensive to buy some players due to the higher demands in wages. Hang on Karl we are in the Championship now,  the higher you go the higher the wages and fees are going to be as the players have to be better.

I think we all can agree that the money in football is crazy and some sort of wage cap is needed, but until thats in place KO is going to have to start parting with the cash!’, ‘Players too expensive - welcome to the Championship Karl’
