Blackpool FC South Stand

Although in the last 12 months things have been good for the average Seasider there is one problem that seems to continue and continue, Blackpool FC South Stand. As you may be aware at Blackpool FC there is no south stand. Currently the space is occupied by a car park, well a muddy area and cars have parked on there on matchdays.

The current line from the chairman Karl Oyston is that the work on the South Stand can begin once the South  Stand pre-lets are sorted. The stands are to be build with offices in the middle floor, the money the companys will pay to let the space will pay for the stand to be build. So until a company signs up nothing much is going to be happening with the stand.

It looks like Karl Oyston has pushed his luck and at the Blackpool V Ipswich game the chanting started.

We’ve only got two stands,
We’ve only got two stands,
We’ve only got two stands,
TWO STANDS!

and

Oyston where’s the South?, Oyston, Oyston wheres the south!

It looks like this is going to become a regular chant at Bloomfield Road from now on.

We’ll again we conceded from a corner, after Claus Jorgensen had given us the lease thanks to a new Blackpool FC signing Stephen McPhee who played rather well I must say. So final score, Blackpool 1 – 1 Ipwich, highlights with some extra bits below.

Miller Time?

Simon Grayson seems like he’s not resting until he gets another Scottish striker after the addition of  Stephen McPhee, next on the list is Lee Miller who looks good to me

Wammy!

An initial bid has been turned down and it sounds like we were way off the mark, it was described as ‘derisory’.  Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood said “ Blackpool manager Simon Grayson phoned me to say he was interested in Lee and made an offer which was derisory to say the least. “It was thrown out and he gave no indication of coming back to me.

So that looks like a no go then.

When you trawl the web you find some strange pictures, this is one of many I have bookmarked. A pie in front of Bloomfield Road, not that you would know it’s Bloomfield Road home of Blackpool FC as there no sign.

Stephen McPhee signs for Blackpool

Stephen McPhee has become the first player to sign for Pool in the transfer window from Hull City. The former Port Vale player once bagged 27 goals in a season but didn’t have the best of times at Hull. As always I thought a quick search on YouTube would bring up a couple of videos of him banging in some great goals….well there was two results, missing a penalty and then missing open goal. I’m sure he’ll be great in the Tangerine of Blackpool FC.

Blackpool 3 – 0 Burnley

Well, what a start to the New Year beating the Clampets 3-0. I have to say I thought it was going to be hard match after Burnley’s good form away from Turf Moor since Owen Coyle took the job, but it looks like the injuries and suspensions to Burnley’s squad had taken their toll. Not taking anything away from our performance, if you play with a high tempo and create lots of chances you’ll beat the team with dodgy back four.

We are family!

Anyway can’t find any videos of the goals, it would be great to see the Jorgensen one again, a right thumping volley. Anyway onwards and upwards with the F.A. Cup today against Barnsley, for £15 in it should be a good game.
