The results from the first poll are in and its not surprising to see the results with Kaspars Gorkss top of the pile.

Gorkss pulled in 41% of the votes with Hoolahan in second and Crainey in third. Hoolahan in second is a joke as there as compared to last season he’s been below par but at least Kaspars in first place is a correct result.
Our next poll is about the south stand.
Will work be started on the South Stand in 2008?
Total Voters: 10

It’s easter Monday but the Premiership and Championship aren’t not playing today, League One and Two are playing today there are options to see Accrington, Macclesfield and Rochdale all at home in the North West but its a day in for me.
Crawling the net I found this cracking video put together by PoolDude87 on youtube of goals from last season mashed up with commentary from Alan Partridge.
Eat that!

Well what a day! It was a bit of a task to get to the Britannia Stadium today due to a terrible crash on the M6. The motorway was closed both ways so a diversion on the A34 via Congleton and then some directions using the iPhone I arrived at the Britannia at 2:30. The match was delayed by thirty minutes as the ref was stuck in the same traffic problems.

Walking up the hill to the ground (great idea to built it on a a mountain) I experienced four weather types hail, snow, rain and then sunshine. A couple of beers and then the match. Stoke were very poor and really missed Fuller, Shawcross and Lawrence who were serving suspensions. We took the lead in the first half when Big Ben Burgess scored, his shot was deflected past Carlo Nash, there was no other way he would have scored today.
Stoke came out in the second half and scored straight away, Leon Cort poking in as Burgess decided to head back into the box rather clearing his lines.

But, credit to the boys, we didn’t collapse and even had a few chances to win the match. Unfortunately Preston beat Burnley today 2-1 which means they go one point ahead of us. 6 games left to regain the lead over the scum!

We’ve signed Grant Holt from Forrest till the end of the season, must be better than Burgess who after showing some promise this season had turned….crap.
As ever the first video on YouTube when searching for Grant Holt returned this Fifa 07 Video of Grant scoring from the half way line.
Lets hope for more of the same against Stoke tomorrow!!

Following the derby game at the weekend the club has banned 9 fans for racist chanting. It starting with the Preston fans telling us to stick our tower up our arse, we replied with the I’d rather have a tower than a place of worship for muslims. Then it all kicked off with both sets of fans sing racist and homophobic chants.
It was a shame to hear such chanting in the modern game and no doubts it will mean some parents being unwilling to take their kids to the match.
It is a reflection on the modern day Blackpool and Preston which has numerous problems one being education, so no wonder there are uneducated morons chanting such things at matches.

Well today was the big one, Preston V Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, the aim for both sides had to be to avoid defeat, the match ended Blackpool 0 - 0 Preston a result which will have pleased both managers. We were the better side in the game and created the most chances, the best a Volley from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and a thumping shot from Claus Jorgensen which fizzed wide in the first half.

Preston were piss poor, which shows why for most of the season they’ve been in the bottom three. Their best chance was a free kick which Carter fired straight at Rachubka. Ian Evatt was my man of the match he kept the Preston front two quiet with Kaspars.
Highlights are come, but unfortunately there might not be much to watch.
EDIT : Highlights posted on the Seasiders Mailing list, they can be found here to download or here streamed.

Well Keigan Parker did come on but we lost 3-2, it sounds like a close game but we went three down and then grabbed two goals to make it a close end to the match. Buzsaky scored with a lob, looked like a fluke to me, Vine then ran past three from the wing to strike low for the thrid.
Just after half time Rowlands made it three when he fired in after the ball was allowed to be passed along the six yard box. Ben Burgess came of the bench to score, a low drive from an acute angle, a very good goal. The second came from a corner when Kaspar Gorkss header was diverted in by Steve McPhee.
Next up, Blackpool V Preston

Keigan Parker is back on the bench for tonights match against QPR, it may be due to him resting Dickov for the Preston match. It’s the first time the forward has been involved in the first team this year ! Will he make an appearance?

Its the big one that we’ve been waiting for Blackpool v Preston. Eight seasons have passed since the last meeting of the sides, back in December we took all three points beating the knobbers 1-0 in their own backyard. Next Saturday they come to Bloomfield Road looking for their first win since 1992, thats not going to happen?
Our last win at Bloomers was in 1997 Preece and Philpott with the goals in a 2-1 win. The last match in 2000 at Bloomers, ended in a 0-0 draw watched by 9042 fans its a pity that the attendance on Saturday won’t be much more due to the lack of development at Bloomers.

I know its going to be one hell of an atmosphere on Saturday but the results in recent weeks have cast a slight doubt to whether we can beat the Scum. They’ve won two away on the bounce 1-0 against Leicester and then 2-1 against Charlton. I suppose we beat Leicester too and the other week we thrashed Charlton. I have to say that I would be happy with a point, we just can’t get beat!
Anyway at least we don’t have to deal with Brett Ormerod who moved to Nottingham Forest on loan on Friday. Ormerod 89!!
