QPR 1 – 1 Blackpool highlights

Another good point picked up tonight against QPR and another goal from Gary Taylor-Fletcher, and what a goal it was, see it on the highlights video below. From the match reports it sounded like a typical away performance with the QPR pushing for most of the match and us nicking the goal in the first half.

All three point would have been nice as that would have put us on level points with PNE and up to 9th in the table. Currently we sit in 14th place on 12 points with another 4 teams with the same points tally.

Roll on Cardiff on Saturday who beat Coventry 2-1 tonight.

Freddie Eastwood spoils the day again

That bloody Freddie Eastwood spoiled the day on Saturday after a great opener from big Ben the Romany forward scored a equaliser to share the points. He’s now scored against us for three different clubs. From my angle there was a big deflection from Rob Edwards to knock the ball in at the near post, so technically it wasn’t his goal.

To be honest it wasn’t the greatest match ever and Burgess as normal for a home game did pretty much nothing but scored and hit the bar.  It did look like the players had a hang over from the Birmingham match.

The worring point was that at times we were awful in defence but seemed to ride our luckk. Both full backs Barker and Camera were caught out of position and a few dodgy clearances from Evatt didn’t help things.

Anyway next week it’s Cardiff with a stupid 12:30 kick off which means an early start for me, I don’t think I’ll make the trip to QPR tomorrow night.

Poll Results – Pick of the new lads

Another poll comes to an end, the vote was for the pick of the new lads and Rob Edwards deservedly came on top with 28% of the votes. The former Wolves centre back has impressed all since his summer move and has been handed the captain’s armband too.

In second place Steve Kabba the loan man from Watford with 24% of the votes. After a slow start due to injury Kabba has hit two goals and was instrumental in the Birmingham win.

In third place David Vaughan who also had a slow start to the season. With 13% of the votes Vaughan beats Adam Hammill to third with one vote extra.

The next vote looks at the winner of this poll, Rob Edwards. Theres been plenty of discussion about this subject both online and at the ground…

Is Rob Edwards better than Kaspars Gorkss?

The voting form in on the side bar so get voting!

Birminghan 0 – 1 Blackpool

Get in 1-0 win over Birmingham this afternoon thanks to a great goal in the second half from Gary Taylor-Fletcher.

It’s puts Tuesday’s result to the back of the mind. Pool lined up 442 with Steve Kabba playing upfront with Ben Burgess and David Vaughan on the wing in place of Adam Hammill.

Althought the blues pressed the back five impressed with the central pairing of Evatt and Edwards being the pick of the bunch.

What a day, what a win! Up to tenth in the league!

Burnley 2 – 0 Blackpool – Not good enough

After being the champions of Lancashire last season I was hoping for a similar run of victories over our Lancashire Rivals this season. First up last night, the Clampets – the Dingles – Burnley. The night didn’t start well with news that Steve Kabba was injured and we’d be playing a 4-5-1 with Ben Burgess on his tod upfront.  Kabba has a sore thigh and calf.

Anyway we played awful, in the first half there must have been 4 formations, starting with 4-4-2 with GTF upfront with Burgess. Then 5-4-1 with GTF on the right, Adam Hammill on the left and David Vaughan in the hole. Then the wingers swapped etc etc. We were lucky to be level at the break after Rachubka pulled off a couple of good saves.

A sub at half time would have been good, Hammill off with Nardiello upfront with Burgess, going 4-4-2 with GTF and Vaughan on the wing. But that change didn’t come. Martin Paterson, who looks a really good player, took his goal well, and the penalty scored by Gary Alexander was incidental.

The most worrying points from the night, Hammill being awful (he was slighty better in the first half) and the stat that we only had two shots all night!

Will Steve Kabba be called back to Watford?

Another great win this weekend over Barnsley and all thanks to a great goal from Steve Kabba. A sweet strike from outside of the box proved to be the difference between the two sides, it looked like we weren’t going to get the win after two shots were cleared off the line.

It’s all good for Steve Kabba who’s scored two goals since his loan move from Watford, but does this mean that Aidy Boothroyd will be looking at bringing Kabba back? Non of the Watford strikers have scored in the league yet and with Kabba hitting form does it mean an early return for the frontman?  I hope not.

If he does keep on scoring we’ll have to have a chant for him, how about Culture Club – Karma Chameleon.

Kabba, Kabba, Kabba, Kabba, Kabba, Kabba, Kabbaaaaaaaa He scores great goals, he score great goaalllllsssss ??????

Have a sing-a-long.
