Time for a Manager

It seems it’s time to get a manager in after yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Watford. Tony Parkes named the same team that went down midweek to Derby 4-1. For me Ormerod should have started ahead of O’Donavan with Gary Talyor-Fletcher moving to the right wing and Paul Rachubka replacing Gilks who’s conceded 10 goals in four starts.

Parkes spell in charge has seen us pick up 9 points from a possible 33, thats from two wins and 3 draws. Unfortunately were not going to get a new manager as Oyston will leave it as long as possible not to get a manager in as it saves him a wage. We’re currently 5 points clear of Norwich who come to Bloomfield Road in March. It’s going to be tight.

Well that didn’t turn out well, we pretty much caved in for the last 15 and Derby finished their chances off well, the second goal from Commons was a class curling finish into the top corner. Unfortunately the referee from tonights game Dean Whitestone didn’t help with constantly poor decisions for both sides. Anyway I’m rather tired now but a post about referee Dean Whitestone will be on the way similar to posts about another imbecile Iain Williamson.

Derby 1 – 1 Blackpool Half Time

Half time from Pride Park at it’s all square. We got off to the worse possible start when a Crainey header left Gills out of his goal, Hulse crossed to Commons who slotted into the empty net.

Then Mr Dean Whitestone tonight referee started to make some bizzare decisions including a corner when a Derby cross sailed high over all the players.

We lever up when Rob Edwards flicked in a Vaughan free kick from the right. Derby have had to make two subs so it’s looking good for the second providing Dean Whitestone doesn’t have a shocker!

Derby V Blackpool

So I’m in my seat at Pride Park watching the teams warm up. I’ve had a nice afternoon in Derby city center and a few pints too.

The ground is pretty much in the middle of nowhere but is pretty impressive with the large main stand to my left and the ore match music pumping out. At the moment there is only around 300-400 pool fans in the ground and with Derby playing on Sunday in the cup it doesn’t look like a full house.

Anyway up the pool let’s hope for a win!

Another good away result, it seems like we’ll end the season with a better record away from home. We’ve picked up 21 points away from home (seventh best the league) and 17 points at home the (23rd best in the league). Its most likely down to a combination of our style of play at home being a bit too open and away from home the home sides underestimating us.

Highlights from the game can be found……..here.

Inconsistent

Another inconsistent display this weekend ended in a 3-2 defeat to Doncaster who played with plenty of spirit. It could have been a whole different story if David Fox had grabbed a second when he was clean through on goal from a 2-1 with DJ Campbell.

Fox fluffed the chance and from then you know that we were going to end up with nothing. DJ Campbell played well again, well he did pretty much nothing during the game and when the chance game he took it very well.

Hopefully he’ll be staying for the rest of the season a it looks like his goals are going to be the difference…
