Euell will do Nicely

Second signing under Ollie and it’s Jason Euell who will fit really well in the roll as second striker, it seems that things are starting to come together now!

Released by Southampton this summer Euell ‘s got plenty of experience in the Championship and the top flight. At 32 he’s no spring chicken but apparently he’s pretty fit. Also he’s deaf in one ear!

As ever here’s a video of the man in action, having a penalty saved by Chubs!

Shaun Barker leaves for Derby

Shaun Barker has today left for Derby County in a deal around £900,000. It looked like it was on the cards from the start of the summer when Nigel Clough pointing out Barker for a move to the County Ground. £900,000 is a great fee considering in the middle of last season Barker had a little off patch. Some of that money I’m guessing will go to Rotherham as a sell-on clause.

He’s been a great servant to the club over the past three years and pretty much was part of the recent years of success at the club. Over 134 appearances for the club and a few goals. The highlight goals a winning header against Crewe when we were down to 10 men and this effort in the League One Play-Off Semi Final at Oldham.

Thanks Shaun and Good Luck.

Burscough 0 – 4 Blackpool – A good run out

Ollie’s first game in charge ended in a 4-0 win today over Burscough thanks to two goal from Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Brett Ormerod and the last from Nardiello (looked like an o.g. to me). The 1st half team played really well with Baptiste solid at the back, Vaughan played in the middle with Southern, Clarke played wide left with GTF on the right.

Young Danny Mitchley played in the hole behind Ben Burgess but all were interchaning from left to right. The home side weren’t up to much until the second half when Richard Langley and co in the middle of the park didn’t hold any structure. It was interesting to see the front three that Ollie wants to use. I’m not sure at the moment we have the correct player to play in the ‘hole’ a certain Charlie Adams might fit in very well.

Charlie Adams to sign or not

Over the last few days it looked like Charlie Adams would signing for a record half a million from Rangers but it looks like he’s trying to cling onto his career at Rangers.

There’s no doubt that the signing of Charlie Adams would be one of the biggest signing in the last 20 years at Bloomers. Not only breaking our transfer record but bringing in someone who’s played at the top level. It could be the start of a turning point to establish the club as a Championship team and not a team that might yo-yo from league one to the Championship.

I just hope that Charlie realises that he can become a real legend at Blackpool.
