Following today’s postponement of the Blackpool V Sheffield Wednesday game I’ve spent time coming up with five ingenious ways to defrost a pitch.
1. Multiple Hair Dryers
Lots of power adapters and lots of hair dryers, top setting on the hair dryers and systematically cover the pitch.
2. Fire Bins
Around 30 / 40 fire bins jacked up on bricks would defrost the pitch. Slowly move them about and be careful not to set the grass on fire.
3. De Icer Sprinkler system.
Combing a few thousand bottles of de icer with the sprinkler system at Bloomfield Road and start spraying. As long as the pitch gets an even spray it should defrost, not sure what the state of the grass would be in due to the chemicals in the de icer.
4. Hot Water Sprinkler System
Similar to point 3 but this time pump hot water to melt the pitch. Hot water could come from the mains or from lots and lots of kettles.
5. Pitch covers / Undersoil heating.
Maybe a little controversial, but pitch covers and undersoil heating seem to do the trick for most football clubs.
If your football pitch eventually is defrosted but you´ve spend far too much money on travelling to the ground to only find out the game is cancelled then your probably best just checking live football scores online.

The dust has settled on yesturday’s win at Derby but to be honest before the game I was really confident. Derby have been terrible in the last few matches and easily beaten by Doncaster, a side who play similar football to ourselves.
Watching the highlights this morning and looking over the stats it could, and should have been more if Brett had his finishing boots on. Credit to Brett who kept on making the runs and in the end grabbed a great goal in the second half. Who would have thought at Christmas we would be one place from the play-offs with a game in hand!

half time and we are one nil up thanks to a goal from Brett Ormerod. we should be up by a few more with two chances falling to Brett, one hitting the bar.
to be honest Derby have been really poor bar Dickov upfront. the worrying news is Derby have to play better in the second half and they have Hulse and DJ Campbell on the bench.
It’s been a great Boxing Day so far, let’s hope it stays that way.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without football on Boxing day. It’s a longer drive today over to Derby but should be great with a full house, but only a 1,000 pool in attendance.
Derby have been poor at home so far this year and that’s countinued recently even with our old front pair of Dickov and DJ Campbell.
Last years 4-1 defeat was one of the most dissapointing away results, let’s hope things are better this year!! Better be for £27 a ticket!
