A very poor result and performance yesterday against Barnsley, the tactics seemed to be the problem. DJ doesn’t like to play wide which means Burgess spent the majority of the first half on the left wing, he’s not a left winger.

It took 60 mintes until our first shot on target but even before that you knew that Barnsley would get on the score sheet after the way they started the second half. Mr Singh did his best to disrupt the play being conned time after time.

The only interesting points from the day was that some Pool fan had one planted on him from another Pool fan and an crazy old man tried to run people over at the railway crossing after the game. You know when those are the highlights it’s not been the greatest game of football.

It was a big of a risky journey to today’s game through the snow, wind and rain from Manchester but the conditions here at Oakwell are good.

The pitch is a little bare down the middle and a few area are cutting up, it’s better than Bloomers not a great achievement really.

It looks like big Ben will be playing with Ormerod and DJ in support.

Fancy a 3-1 win today.

After a ok result against Preston tonights win over Middlesbrough was a great way to get back on track. We dominated the first half but didn’t grab a second goal we deserved. Boro were always going to come out and give it some welly in the second half unless we grabbed an early goal.

It nearly all went to pot when Charlie somehow managed to stay on the pitch after fouling Jeremie Aliadiere. I do think that was the reason for the pen later on, the ref thought he’d made a mistake by not show Charlie a red. He still managed to flash the red to Edwards who didn’t have the best luck with a pass he didn’t want and a shit pitch. He should have booted it but the lad must be feeling pressured to improve his distribution to keep a place in the team.

You knew after the save from Matt Gilks that the three points were ours and the tap in form DJ Campbell to get his first goal since coming back was the icing on the cake.

Only problem I’m missing the Reading game but really looking forward to the Barnsley match…. Oh and Preston were tonked 5-3 this evening doesn’t get any better.

Derby Day…

It’s hard to write down what derby day means to a Blackpool fan. At the end of the season if we don’t get relegated or promoted then the season can be encapsulated in the results against Preston. I’ve been to a few games between the two sides are currently we stand 13 played, 5 wins Blackpool, 3 wins Preston and 5 draws.

Overall I’ve had more ups and downs. My feelings for tomorrow are mixed, without Charlie we seem like a side with no direction but that role could be recaptured by the returning Brett Ormerod.

It’s always difficult to predict the result in the derby match but I can see a 2-2 draw.

Half time and somehow we are one down. A breakaway goal was the difference but we’ve hit the bar and had around 10 shot but only forcing saves a couple of time.

The pitch isn’t helping

Offside?

Busy times at Bloomers with all these game and new signings. Tuesday’s defeat was really hard to take. Watching the highlights today it looks like the 1st was offside, even with Coid a few yards deeper.

The pen also looks like Butler got the ball, something that was easy to see from the West Stand, where the lino was positioned.

It’s the day the message boards go crazy as everyone rushes to bring in some fresh blood. It’s no a secret that we have a bit of cash to splash. We’ve been linked with a few names already one being Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson who would be a brilliant signing.
