A little late, but our season still has some time to go hopefully. Kaspars Gorkss and Paul Rachubka have won the past two BFC Blog player of the season awards. Last seasons was pretty close but I’m guessing one player will take the majority of the votes.
The six to pick from are
Just head to the side bar on the right to vote!

….I couldn’t make the game today from the photo’s it looked like a another great away day. Swansea were always going to struggle today against Sheffield United, they have trouble scoring generally but there was no chance considering it was Paddy Kenny’s first game back after a ninth month ban. As hard as it is to say, thank to Richard Cresswell for the brace.

It’s been a strange couple of days after it was announced that DJ Campbell had been arrested about a stabbing, if anything it’s just typical he went onto score the winner today.
Role on next weekend which is going to be an epic journey, Friday and Saturday night are going to be spent in Cambridge which means a long drive on Sunday morning can’t wait! Let’s just hope we can match Swansea’s result against Donny! Can’t contemplate thinking about anything after that….

It was the one game out of the three remaining that looked the hardest on paper. Fortunately little Billy Davies did rest some players which did make task in hand slightly easier, but you can only beat what’s put in front of you.
fingers in the air if your an annoying prick
However it might be a different story if we meet in the play-offs. Our away victory at the City Ground came when Forest were in the middle of a poor run of form and Saturday’s home win as mentioned was against a week Forest eleven.
Next Saturday looks like the big one, Swansea are at Sheffield United who have the 6th best record in the division only losing three times, but the Swans have the 5th best away record in the league. We have to over come Peterborough United who will be looking to bounce back after a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Reading.
It could come down to the last day of the season when Doncaster play Swansea at the Liberty, lets hope JET has his shooting boots on!

Well, that didn’t go to plan. It turned out to be a great day out regardless of the results. A stop in Kirby Stephen on the way over, then a stop at the Angle of the North, walk around a great ground and then beers.
The disappointing part of the game was three easy goals to give away and that DJ Campbell fluffed a one-on-one that was our major chance to get into the game. The silver lining from the day was that Swansea lost which puts them two points ahead of us with three to go. They have to face Barnsley at home, Sheffield United away and Donny on the last day of the season. All eyes will be on the Swans now….

Wow what a second half of football and a big result. Scunny came out after half time the better side and grabbed the equaliser from the spot, yet another pen we have given away.
After that it didn’t look like we were going to get a winner. After Fletcher missed a sitter I thought we would end up with a point but the subs made the difference.
David Vaughan played a blinder getting his foot of the ball getting it out wide to Bouazza who crossed for for the third.
Colemans goal was s great piece of individual skill. He dribbled past three from the touchline then lifted the ball over the keeper into goal.
DJ took his goal well, both breakaway goals. Scunny second made the last 10 interesting.
Great away day, with a flare too! Let hope WBA can do the business now against Leciester.

Half time and one up thanks to a cracking own goal. A cross from Coleman was cut out, but it was cut out into the bottom corner.
Burgess went close with a header and Dobbie nearly scored from a long range volley.
In the end Gilks pulled of a great save tipping over the bar. All set up for a great second half.

It’s a big weekend of football and a weekend that will shape the end of out season. A win today and on Monday with results going our way will see us in the playoffs.
Today’s pitch at scunny isn’t the best which may be in our favour as our players are used to playing on a poor surface.
Hopefully Brett and Bouazza will be back in the squad today with Vaughan. At the moment on M62 it’s looking dark and wet.
