And so it starts the speculation about signings for next year, the one that’s got me really excited is Patrick McCourt from Celtic for £500k. As ever we turn to YouTube for scouting, the frist two videos one is called “Paddy McCourt – The Derry Pelé” and the other “Paddy McCourt – “The Messi With Beard” Compilation”
He’s fallen out of favour at Celtic, but at 26 he might not fit the bill of a young player with a prospect for the future considering he already had a chance to make in English football with Rochdale but ended up back in Ireland with Shamrock and Derry.
He’s got some skills anyway, a new Wes?

Unless you’ve been hidden in a cupboard for the last few days you can’t fail to notice all the press we have received following our promotion to the Premier League (…yes I just typed Premier League!). It’s hard to take it all in so he’s a round up from as many places as possible. Please add any think I’ve missed via comment or email me johnpcampbell11985 @ gmail . com to add to the list.
Download all into one folder then click on the one file from each section to piece the files together (http://www.win-rar.com/ puts the files together).

Last night was the main event at the Blackpool FC players of the season awards. The awards went all to Charlie Adam, bar goal of the season to Barry Bannan for his effort against Coventry.
So to the BFCBlog Blackpool FC Player of the Season award for 2009/10……..and the prize goes to……Charlie Adam.

A total of 187 votes were cast and Charlie received 66% of the vote. In second place with 12% Brett Ormerod and in third Alexis??? (late night posting) Baptiste with 9% of the vote.
So well done to Charlie who wins nothing but further confirmation of what a great season he had.
So to the next question, pretty simple:
Can Blackpool survive in the Premier League?
The vote is over in the side bar to the right of this article. Get voting!

It’s quite unbelievable that I’m actually posting this blog post this evening to say that we are now in the Premier League.
This journey started 9 season ago when Steve McMahon took us up from League 2, that season Brett Ormerod scored 27 times, including the 4th in the 4-2 win over Leyton Orient. Today Brett completed the 3rd promotion taking us to the top flight with the winning goal against Cardiff.

After Macca we had a season of nothingness under Colin Hendry, we really stepped things up under Simon Grayson and with the perfect 10 and promotion. That season under Grayson he installed a new mentality in the club, a winning one and that was really was the changing point for us. Tony Parkes did a great job last season of keeping us up and bringing Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell to the club.
Then 1 year and one day ago, Ian Holloway came to the club. What that man has done it unbelievable, he changed the mentality of the club again, the formation, the way we went about playing football and the way he behaved. It’s all combined in today’s 3-2 win over Cardiff.
Although I couldn’t blog it, as soon as we beat Nottingham Forest I knew that we going to win today, regardless who we played Cardiff or Leicester we had the momentum and the belief. Even going one down to the Chopra goal it was never going to be a problem, they could have scored 6, we would have scored 7.
Charlie poped up with a great free kick, pretty much a perfect effort that absolutely flew in for his 19th goal of the season.

Joe Ledley scored a great goal to make it 2-1. Gary Taylor-Fletcher grabbed a scrappy header, and then Brett finished a neat move with a neat little finish.
The second half was a little nervy, but we managed to hold on and really should have grabbed a breakaway goal. The scenes at the final whistle was brillant as have the full match highlights I’ve just watched on Sky.

We now have the Premier League to look forward to this includes all the little extras including being on Match of The Day, full highlights on Football First, wide scale press coverage, TV coverage at every match, it’s just going to be on another level from what I’ve been used too.
Two last pictures before I get a shower and apply some aftersun to my burnt face , one of Ollie who now hold’s a legendary status on the Fylde coast and. one of me and my old man! An awesome day to end an awesome 9 seasons!

So here we are, tomorrow will game will be my 42nd game of the season. It’s been on of the most exciting seasons to follow the pool. there’s been plenty of great results but for me six results stick out that define our season.
As ever it’s never simple for me, rushing off at 5 after work tonight back to Blackpool to see Pendulum, (booked around 6 months ago) up at five in the morning ready to set off down to Wembley.
I can’t wait, this has been pretty much the most unproductive work at week and home. Let’s hope it all goes to plan. Connection permitting I’ll blog live from the game before, half time and result depending at full time.

As we know getting into the playoffs really increases the profile of the club, god knows what would happen if we actually managed to win. This evening I received a kind of good luck message all the way from Ghana!
It’s from a village that’s helped out by a charity called Village By Village, who I’ve helped out with a new website build! Maybe, just maybe in a few years time the kids won’t need prompting who Blackpool FC are as we’ll be in the same breath as Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United!

Tonight is one of those nights you’ll never forget. I’ve had plenty of them beating Preston 1-0 twice, a Golden goal by Bully at Huddersfield, 4-3 against Watford away, winning at Birmingham last year, Scunny away this year! but thats been topped by tonight’s 4-3 win at Forest securing a place at Wembley in the Championship Final. I’m pretty knackered but won’t be sleeping for a while as the adrenaline is still pumping around my body and I want to see the highlights on SSN.
We always knew that Forest were going to come at us, but we always knew that we were going to score goals, it was matter of scoring as many or more than the home side. What really proved its worth tonight was a little bit of experience being able to soak pressure and more importantly take our chances.

After Earnshaw slotted in the opener I was surprised that the home side didn’t push on, it might have been a little bit of in inexperience from their part or our middle three starting to get a hold on the game. Forrest didn’t really come out in the second half, DJ took his goal really well, there was the agonising second waiting for the ball to hit the back of the net.

Straight after that Gilk’s pulled off a great double save, at that point you just knew it was going to be our night. Dobbie’s goal came from a great little serge forward from Crainey and a lucky deflection. If that didn’t knock the stuffing out of Forest then DJ’s second (which was the goal of the night) did end the tie.
His third looked offside but who cares! We now have a great day to look forward to, most importantly we have Charlie Adam without the worry of a yellow card and Cardiff / Leicester should be scared of us.

FInal note and picture has to go to this man, what a job he has done! He’s bursting with pride for his players, we the fans are bursting with pride for him.

There’s plenty of videos on YouTube about The Mighty but this one really does sum up this season so far. If you have a spare 4 mins and 28 seconds do have a watch.
