Barnsley 1 – 0 Blackpool

Posted on February 28, 2010

A very poor result and performance yesterday against Barnsley, the tactics seemed to be the problem. DJ doesn’t like to play wide which means Burgess spent the majority of the first half on the left wing, he’s not a left winger.

It took 60 mintes until our first shot on target but even before that you knew that Barnsley would get on the score sheet after the way they started the second half. Mr Singh did his best to disrupt the play being conned time after time.

The only interesting points from the day was that some Pool fan had one planted on him from another Pool fan and an crazy old man tried to run people over at the railway crossing after the game. You know when those are the highlights it’s not been the greatest game of football.

Yes, it was always on the cards that out trip to Oakwell would prove disappointing. Ollie’s tactics are a bit like him, unconventional and different to say the least. Too many players had a combined off day, possibly because of the internationals coming up Charlie & Vaughanie looked out of sorts. Trouble is, we’ve got that other bogey side to play at the weekend, who have beaten us twice already. I think if Ollie is serious about making the play-offs, he needs to get his tactics right. He also needs to know when to make a substitution, because at times he leaves it too late. Up the Pool.
