Billy Clarke

Billy Clark became Ian Holloway’s first signing from Ipswich on a Free. Born in Cork, Ireland the 5’7 forward made just 49 appearances at Ipswich a club he joined in 2005. While at Portman road Clarke spent time on loan at Colchester, Falkirk, Darlington, Northampton and Brentford where he grabbed 6 goals in 8 games.

Clarke has also featured for Republic of Ireland’s under-21′s side scoring twice in 11 appearances. New manager Ipswich manager Roy Keane didn’t see Clarke as part of his places and following his release Clarke signed a two year contract with Blackpool with an option for a further year.

Actually Clarke joined Town in 2003 as an academy junior at 16. He then signed his pro contract for 3 years in 2006. Clarke scored 18 goals on loan in all competitions for 3 loan clubs in 2008/2009 season.
