The Clampetts Beat Chelsea

Blooming heck Burnley managed to beat Chelsea tonight in the Carling Cup beating the current league leaders 5-4 on penalties. Chelsea took the lead when Drogba slotted home infront of the Burnley fans. It then looked like a coin was thrown at Drogba by a clampet, Drogba picked it up and threw it back at the fans. For this picture you can see that the inbreds didn’t seem too happy.

But Akinbiyi equalize and took the game to extra time and penaties. It went to sudden death after both teams missed one pen each and the Beast Jensen pulled off a cracking save to win the match.

So as much as it hurts to say…. well done to the Clampetts!

Last night we committed suicide against West Brom, leading 1-0 with 10 minutes to go we let in three goal in 6 minutes to lose the game 3-1. Big Ben Burgess grabbed our goal in the first half, he was pretty crap in the game but scored a header from a free kick.

Phillips came off the bench to score two goals, he seems to have the midas touch, and Ishmael Miller grabbed the third. It all means were still on 50 points with the pack below us closing, at the time of writing this Barnsley are 2-0 up over Watford! It’s going to be a nervous end to the season!

Refing the Malaysian Way

Recently in the English league there have been a few incidents with two footed tackles, with Carvalho’s lunge being the pick of the lot. In Malaysian a referee took things into his own hands when players started mobbing he ran to his car to get a gun and started to fire warning shots. Now I should add that the man in black in mention was a policeman hence the gun in his car but he was still taken into custody for suspected misuse of firearms.

Maybe Iain Williamson will have to look into purchasing a firearm as some of his matches are bound to to end in him being mobbed.

Get in, get in, get in we beat the scum 1-0. A cold and wet afternoon at Deepdale ended in joy has the final scored ended Preston 0 - 1 Blackpool, thanks to a Wes Hoolahan penetly in the second half.

Wes Hoolahan

A packed Blackpool end went mental in the second half when Ben Burgess was brought down in the box and Wes put the resulting penalty away with a cheeky chip down the middle. The win puts prescum into the bottom three and move ourselves up to 18th in the league. All is good tonight on the Fylde coast.

The draw for the Third round of the F.A. Cup was made this afternoon after the Harrogate R v Mansfield match. We drew Barnsley away, as draws go pretty crap tie, Chelsea were the next out of the hat! Burnley got the pick of the draws Arsenal at home, Manchester United drew Villa which seems to happen every year. Ties to be played in the New Year January 5/6th.

Blackpool 1 - 3 Norwich

This is getting a bit worrying now, defeat at home to bottom of league Norwich wasn’t good viewing at all, another 100 mile plus round trip for the match to be bitterly disappointed.

The game and maybe the result could have been so different when midway through the first half Dion Dublin made an awful challenge on Paul Rachubka as he shepparded the ball out of play. Right in the corner of the North and West Stand Dublin only received a booking for the tackle, he must have know that we had no keeper on the bench as the tackle was aimed to injure the stopper. So Mr M Haywood bottled it.

Norwich weren’t up to much but they have good strikers which seems like a requirement in the Championship.  For Norwich they have  of Dublin, Cureton and Huckerby, not bad. At least out new boy Bartosz Slusarski grabbed his first goal in English football, I think a Gary Taylor-Fletcher shot hit him. Roll on QPR…
