Another great day in the capital chatting with a range of fans from the Mansfield and Darlo fans there for the LDV final to the Spurs fans on the way back to Euston. Even strangers in London asking how we got on!

Ollie in the end got the right team out, Kornilenko just doesn’t seem fast enough for this level of football. It was a classic away performance with is soaking up pressure and looking to score in the break.

Credit to Charlie for sticking the second pen away, but again he wasn’t plaguing to his best.

Hopefully this results gives us a little more confidence going into next week! Up the Pool !!!

It’s an achievable accolade a fitting celebration of his time in charge so far and something he deserves.

At the moment there’s 688 fans of the group, every refresh of the page more are being added…. 695, 697, 699, 705. etc etch

I’ve spoke to David Armstrong who se up the Facebook group.

BFCBlog : Are you a BFC fan?

Dave : No, I am not a born and bred Blackpool fan. I am, and always will be, a Glasgow Rangers supporter. However I have tried to push the message through the page that the campaign isn’t just for Blackpool fans (although they have so far been very responsive to it). We already have Rangers, Celtic, Notts Forest, Dundee United, Motherwell, Leeds United, Manchester United fans along with many guys and girls from Blackpool and Bristol Rovers who basically just all felt that Holloway should be in with a shout of winning the BBC Coach of the Year 2010 award.

BFCBlog : So have you been following Blackpool this year in the top flight?:

Dave : Of course, this year I have been cheering on Pool in every game as their spirit, style and determination has been a revelation in the money driven world of the EPL. Your captain, Charlie Adam, was a Rangers player for many years and was basically thrown out due to financial difficulties at Ibrox at that time. I know he is having a dispute with the Seasider’s board at this time however that has not stopped him from being one of the finest captains in the EPL this season. Thanks to Ian Holloway, he has also developed into the Scottish national side’s most technically-able midfield players along with Dorrans at West Brom, so I have further reason to be grateful to him.

BFCBlog : Why does Ollie deserve to be in line for the award ?

Dave: Holloway hit the nail on the head during the Rooney V Manchester United saga, and the Man United fans have taken him to their heart for that as can be seen from some of the posts on the campaign’s facebook page. What Holloway has at Blackpool FC isn’t just inspire a club, he is inspiring all of Blackpool and beyond. His famously outspoken approach to key issues both in the game and in society in general have been a breath of fresh air. That surely means, at the very least, he should be given a nod at the BBC Sport’s personality of the Year awards.

BFCBlog : Who are the competition Ollie faces?

Dave: I think there is quite limited competition from within the top level of the British game because perhaps money talks so loudly these days that it has become a game of who can you sign, not what can you do with what you’ve got. Maybe Walter Smith (Winning 2 titles in a row without signing a single player for two years) and possibly Harry Redknapp for his work at Spurs would be contenders, as might Chris Hughton for getting Newcastle back on track. In any case, I think that Holloway has done more with less – not just meaning money but also training facilities, working conditions, etc - than anyone else this year.

Cheers Dave, if you haven’t joined the group head over to face book and join now. I think there’s a real chance of him winning, Capello won it last year!

So the journey and the ride begins again tomorrow at Wigan, unfortunately I’ll be joining a little later on with it being the other half’s Birthday tomorrow! I know first game of the season how disrespectful of her!

Joking aside, tomorrow and for the rest of the season we need to back the players, back Ollie and back the club no matter the results. Just a week ago people were worried about not bring in anyone, getting angry at KO and Ollie, we’ve now got 6 players in, players with top flight experience and young talented players. There was no need to worry.

If we lose 6-0 one week thats ok, we have pick ourselves up, forget the result, keep on singing, keep the noise levels up allow the lads to keep playing football. Some of the new lads might take weeks and maybe months to settle down but everyone Ollie’s brought in so far has been an improvement on before.

So here’s looking forward to another great season of ups and downs, but this time in the PREMIER LEAGUE!

In Ollie we trust!

Tonight is one of those nights you’ll never forget. I’ve had plenty of them beating Preston 1-0 twice, a Golden goal by Bully at Huddersfield, 4-3 against Watford away, winning at Birmingham last year, Scunny away this year! but thats been topped by tonight’s 4-3 win at Forest securing a place at Wembley in the Championship Final. I’m pretty knackered but won’t be sleeping for a while as the adrenaline is still pumping around my body and I want to see the highlights on SSN.

We always knew that Forest were going to come at us, but we always knew that we were going to score goals, it was matter of scoring as many or more than the home side. What really proved its worth tonight was a little bit of experience being able to soak pressure and more importantly take our chances.

After Earnshaw slotted in the opener I was surprised that the home side didn’t push on, it might have been a little bit of in inexperience from their part or our middle three starting to get a hold on the game. Forrest didn’t really come out in the second half, DJ took his goal really well, there was the agonising second waiting for the ball to hit the back of the net.

Straight after that Gilk’s pulled off a great double save, at that point you just knew it was going to be our night. Dobbie’s goal came from a great little serge forward from Crainey and a lucky deflection. If that didn’t knock the stuffing out of Forest then DJ’s second (which was the goal of the night) did end the tie.

His third looked offside but who cares! We now have a great day to look forward to, most importantly we have Charlie Adam without the worry of a yellow card and Cardiff / Leicester should be scared of us.

FInal note and picture has to go to this man, what a job he has done! He’s bursting with pride for his players, we the fans are bursting with pride for him.

I don’t think I’ve been up earlier on a match day, today started at 5:00am wake up call and a short drive to Bloomfield Road to queue up for an away leg ticket. After sitting in the car the queue started at 7:30am with the office opening earlier at 8:45, it took 2 mins to get the ticket after the 3 and half hour wait. Just need to get one more ticket which is looking unlikely, (if you have a ticket give us an email johnpcampbell1985 @ googlemail.com)

Sky were getting set up this morning ready for the match, the pitch had been cut and the sun is out at the moment all ready for a great day of football. Today is a big chance to give us a slight advantage going into the second leg. A draw today wouldn’t be a disaster but I feel that a one nil win would really bad for us, it would invite Forest to have a real go at us in the first 20 mins of the second leg. We have to take advantage of being at home today and look to put at least 3 past Camp.

What ever the outcome of today’s game it’s been a great season and mainly due to that man above, Ian Holloway, What a season and what a manager.

In the end we stumbled over the line thanks to Swansea’s inability to score, 40 goals in total this season makes the Swans the lowest goal scorers in the division. Considering we grabbed a 1-1 draw at the Liberty and thrashed them 5-1 at home we deserved the final play off spot.

The atmosphere was great on Sunday, having all three stands makes a difference and the addition of a second drummer in the north really adds to the noise. Whatever the division we are in next season it would be great to see us occupy three ends every home match.

As mentioned we stumbled over the line with not the greatest performance of the season. The rubbish pitch, wind, nerves and Charlie having to twinkle toe around to avoid a yellow all took it’s toll, but with 7th place secured that can all be forgotten.
The first leg on Saturday against Nottingham Forest should be a good match, but one that will be a different encounter to the easy 3-1 win on Saturday. Forest once again rested first team players in the 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe this weekend, Camp, Gunter, Majewski, Earnshaw and Blackstock all started on the bench, I’d expect them all to start on Saturday.

Let’s just hope for some similar scenes at the full time whistle this Saturday!
