A good result last night in front of the Sky cameras to draw with top of the league Wolves on a bitterly cold evening. The new flag looked great on the north stand as the players came out, all the names of the contributers to the flag appeared in the match programme, well done to all!

I’ve watch the highlight of the match and can see why the penalty was given against Rob Edwards but the consistency is the problem with the ref’s in this league, why was there no penalty for when Kyel Reid was pushed over in the box?
Anyway the exit of loan players has started, lets go through each one.
It’s going to be an interesting couple of weeks, maybe Parks and Tommo have some players lined up? Or are they hoping that Wright, Nardiello, McPhee and Crainey will get back to fitness?

I’ve just about calmed down following our defeat today to the nobbers. I have to say I’m really disappointed in the performance, especially as it’s two weeks in a row when we’ve not come out to play. Preston didn’t look all that but were first to the ball in the middle and upfront, also they seem to have a couple of players who are able to finish.

Adam Hammill did well on the wing and took his goal well, pity he wasn’t able to add to it in the second half with the couple of chances he had. Preston in the end managed to press the right areas and managed to break down the right wing for all three goals. I think that a few clubs are targeting Shaun Barker and Gary Taylor-Fletcher down the right, I wounder how many goals we have conceded from the right side?

Anyway we have to pick ourselves up now for the Wolves game which isn’t going to be easy.

We were a little lucky this afternoon to grab a point against Cardiff, we were awful for the most of the match and it wasn’t for Cardiff being poor upfront we should have been 2, 3 down by the time Alan Gow struck the equalizer in extra time.
The goal from Gow was a great strike from the edge of the box into the bottom corner, it was surprising to see Cardiff stand off Gow as he brought the ball down on the edge of the box.
It could have been a different match if Ben Burgess’s goal in the first half stood, from my angle there was no offside, in recent weeks there’s been some shocking referee decisions, pity as towards the end of last season and the start of this one the bastards in the black have been pretty good.
It was good to see Stephen McPhee back in on the pitch but Adam Hammill still flattered to deceive after he started ahead of the injured Jorgensen. With the international break coming up it’s going to be a while til next match but at least we have England to look froward to! Were really good now!

Another poll comes to an end, the vote was for the pick of the new lads and Rob Edwards deservedly came on top with 28% of the votes. The former Wolves centre back has impressed all since his summer move and has been handed the captain’s armband too.
In second place Steve Kabba the loan man from Watford with 24% of the votes. After a slow start due to injury Kabba has hit two goals and was instrumental in the Birmingham win.
In third place David Vaughan who also had a slow start to the season. With 13% of the votes Vaughan beats Adam Hammill to third with one vote extra.

pick-of-the-new-lads
The next vote looks at the winner of this poll, Rob Edwards. Theres been plenty of discussion about this subject both online and at the ground…
Is Rob Edwards better than Kaspars Gorkss?
The voting form in on the side bar so get voting!

After being the champions of Lancashire last season I was hoping for a similar run of victories over our Lancashire Rivals this season. First up last night, the Clampets – the Dingles – Burnley. The night didn’t start well with news that Steve Kabba was injured and we’d be playing a 4-5-1 with Ben Burgess on his tod upfront. Kabba has a sore thigh and calf.
Anyway we played awful, in the first half there must have been 4 formations, starting with 4-4-2 with GTF upfront with Burgess. Then 5-4-1 with GTF on the right, Adam Hammill on the left and David Vaughan in the hole. Then the wingers swapped etc etc. We were lucky to be level at the break after Rachubka pulled off a couple of good saves.
A sub at half time would have been good, Hammill off with Nardiello upfront with Burgess, going 4-4-2 with GTF and Vaughan on the wing. But that change didn’t come. Martin Paterson, who looks a really good player, took his goal well, and the penalty scored by Gary Alexander was incidental.
The most worrying points from the night, Hammill being awful (he was slighty better in the first half) and the stat that we only had two shots all night!

So we’re off the mark win a point against Norwich. I didn’t go to the match but reading reports and catching 10 mins of commentary it sounds like we were lucky to take home a point.
Wes didn’t score but he did provide the corner for the equalizer. Adam Hammill continues to impress and won the penaltly which Big Ben Burgess converted.
So after a dissapointing two games it looks good, still waiting for that new number 9 to arrive!

Another Adam Hammill video this time scoring two goals against Southport reserves for Liverpool reserves, the first a great shot / lob the second just a mazy run taking it past three players and then slotting in the back of the net.
He is going to be a star.
Edit: Main video has been removed, two have are still live.
Which one is the best? Add your comment?

Liverpool youngster Adam Hammill has signed for Blackpool on loan from Liverpool, this is a great signing. He’s been touted as the next Ronaldo / Joe Cole with a few tricks in his back pocket. It looks like we might have the new Wes. All I need to say is watch this goal against Celtic.
Edit : Just found this video, slightly strange.
