It’s a big weekend of football and a weekend that will shape the end of out season. A win today and on Monday with results going our way will see us in the playoffs.

Today’s pitch at scunny isn’t the best which may be in our favour as our players are used to playing on a poor surface.

Hopefully Brett and Bouazza will be back in the squad today with Vaughan. At the moment on M62 it’s looking dark and wet.

The dust hasĀ settledĀ on yesturday’s win at Derby but to be honest before the game I was really confident. Derby have been terrible in the last few matches and easily beaten by Doncaster, a side who play similar football to ourselves.

Watching the highlights this morning and looking over the stats it could, and should have been more if Brett had his finishing boots on. Credit to Brett who kept on making the runs and in the end grabbed a great goal in the second half. Who would have thought at Christmas we would be one place from the play-offs with a game in hand!

Job done today with a point against Forest, once again we battled hard and grabbed a point thanks to a neat finish from Brett Ormerod.

A good end to an awful season at home, hopefully next year we make Bloomers the fortress it needs to be.

So I’m in the ground it’s boiling on the second row. The lads have just warmed up infront of me and there are a couple of changes from last week

Burgess replaces Hughes and Donavan replaces Brett Ormerof who’s on the bench with new signing Walton.

Good turn out my pool all in tangerine!

Preston V Blackpool

The build up to this weekends Preston V Blackpool Lancashire derby has been a little quiet. That may been due to me being too busy to be on the message boards this week or maybe due to the added importance of the match. Both teams really need the points. Preston to have some hope of getting into the play offs and we need the points to stay up.

It looks like Keith Southern will be able to play, I’m guessing with him and Charlie Adams they’ll kick the shit of the Preston midfield. Brett Ormerod and Lee Hughes are going to score and it’s all going to go great…. I hope.

Either way it’s going to be a great day with just under 5,000 Pool fans travelling down the M55.

Brett Ormerod is back, I always thought that he would return to the club one day. He sat near me at the Blackpool V Preston game earlier this year and he wasn’t jumping up and down as the Preston goals went in that day. The news has been met with mixed response but I think it will be a good signing just for the boost it will give the players and hopefully the Bloomfield Road faithful.

Since leaving the club in December 2001 Brett went onto play for Southampton for five years, the highlight playing in the F.A. Cup final in 2003. During his spell at the saints he went on loan to Leeds and Wigan. He signed for Preston in 2006, loan spells followed with Nottingham Forest last year and Oldham this year.

He might be starting today against Crystal Palace. Lets hope for another goal like this!
