Although in the last 12 months things have been good for the average Seasider there is one problem that seems to continue and continue, Blackpool FC South Stand. As you may be aware at Blackpool FC there is no south stand. Currently the space is occupied by a car park, well a muddy area and cars have parked on there on matchdays.
The current line from the chairman Karl Oyston is that the work on the South Stand can begin once the South Stand pre-lets are sorted. The stands are to be build with offices in the middle floor, the money the companys will pay to let the space will pay for the stand to be build. So until a company signs up nothing much is going to be happening with the stand.
It looks like Karl Oyston has pushed his luck and at the Blackpool V Ipswich game the chanting started.
We’ve only got two stands, We’ve only got two stands, We’ve only got two stands,and
Oyston where’s the South?, Oyston, Oyston wheres the south!It looks like this is going to become a regular chant at Bloomfield Road from now on.

Sir Jimmy Armfield is set to receive World Cup medal after it was announced that squad members of World Cups from 1930 to 1974 are to be given retrospective medals. It means that the 11 used players from the final in 66 are to receive the medal.
* John Connolly (Manchester United)
* Gerry Byrne (Liverpool)
* Jimmy Armfield (Blackpool FC)
* George Eastham (Arsenal)
* Ron Springett (Sheffield Wednesday)
* Terry Paine (Southampton)
* Ian Callaghan (Liverpool)
* Ron Flowers (Wolves)
* Norman Hunter (Leeds)
* Peter Bonetti (Chelsea)
* Jimmy Greaves (Tottenham)
“I know Alf Ramsey always felt we should all receive medals and Bobby Moore felt the same way. In 1966, if you didn’t play, you didn’t get a medal, although we all received the same £1,000 bonus!”commented Sir Jimmy.
All thats required now is that Blackpool FC honor him with the South Stand build in his name.

As the derby game draws nearer and nearer, less that a month now, tickets for the traveling Blackpool Fans will be at a premium. With the whole Band A, B and C issue it means some of the loyalest fans may not be able to grab a ticket for the match. The game isn’t due to be on Sky too, so may force fans to sit in the home ends of the ground, well lets face it the nobbers aren’t going to fill Dumpdale.
Anyway this is reaction from one Blackpool fan and his response to Karl Oyston and the ticketing system.

‘One of the biggest characters in football visited Bloomfeild Road last week, Ian Holloway manager of Plymouth, I”ve you”ve not seen big Ol” in action have a look at some of his videos on You Tube, the best the one where he falls off his chair.
This week Roy Keane commented that football had lost its soul but as long as people like Ol” are in the game it will alway have soul. Ol commented that ”It was quite surreal – they”ve done all one side and not the other. They haven”t been beaten there for over a year – and no wonder.” Which I suppose is a bit of a big up” for the home fans, the atmosphere at the game was good but imagine what it could be like with a couple more stands.
Which reminds me of this cracking blog / site with all the promises and articles about the south stand, quite a few quotes from KO. ”He confirmed that if the crowds stay at the level they were against Port Vale on Saturday, then he would have no choice but to rush on with the building of a new South Stand, check the site out at the sound stand story.
