It’s the day the message boards go crazy as everyone rushes to bring in some fresh blood. It’s no a secret that we have a bit of cash to splash. We’ve been linked with a few names already one being Gillingham striker Simeon Jackson who would be a brilliant signing.
He’s scored some good goals.

Another signing and this time it’s Lee Hughes from Oldham on loan. It seems like Joe Royle the new Oldham boss doesn’t want Hughes to play a part in his new team, he’s got other options including Steve Kabba! The news of the signing of Hughes has been met with mixed reactions online due to the strikers past.

I actually heard from a decent source that we spoke to him when he was inside and offered him the opportunity to sign when he was released. Hence why I have half expected him to roll up since. Not impressed, in fact pretty ashamed, but what does my opinion count for.

My word there are certainly some mildly hysterical reactions on here! We haven’t signed Josef Fritzl! Lee Hughes has paid his debt and all the anger and bile in the world won’t bring the person who died back. He’s publicly apologised, been to prison and appears to be remorseful. He’s a quality footballer who deserves a chance. I expect someone will say that the person who died has no second chance. That doesn’t change Lee Hughes’ life. He will live with what he did for the rest of his life. Clearly he did a terrible thing but who on here can honestly say they haven’t made a mistake, broken speed limits, driven after 2 or 3 beers. There but for the grace of god and all that.I’ll support him while he’s here just like any other pool player.

Can’t say much more than what jonboy has already said. Can’t say I thought of McCormick when I first heard the news, but it’s a very, VERY, valid comparison for anyone actually supporting Hughes.Anyone who knows me personally will know that I hold a grudge and don’t let go – Rob Edwards now at Exeter for example – but this grudge has a real meaning behind it.
When he signed for Owdham, I said straight away that he doesn’t deserve to be leading the footballer’s lifestyle again after what he did and I now can’t believe that we’ll be paying his wages.
I’m with everyone else when they say that it’s left a bitter taste in the mouth. Can’t say I’m happy with it. I guess I’m lucky in the fact I’m unlikely to get to another Saturday game this year because of work. I’m not sure what I’d do when he played/if he scored.
One thing’s for sure, I don’t want us to sign him permanently. Loan is long enough, thanks.

This is a tricky one. Due to his past and stuff.I certiaintly will not boo him because of his past however bad a incident it was and it was a bad one but at the end of the day hes here to play football and I will judge him on that, not his personal life.
If it was anyone else in League one with a record of 18 in 36 you would be pretty pleased.
Hes out of contract in the summer, if he does well someone bigger than us will want him.
My opinion is pretty similar to most on the message boards, as a football he’s a great signing with 18 goals in the bag this season for Oldham. Off the field he did a terrible thing, you have to remember too after the car crash that killed one person he went awol for a day.
It will be interesting to see the reaction he gets. For those who don’t know what hughes looks like here’s a picture.

Winger / Striker Wade Small has signed on loan from Sheffield Wednesday. It’s a good boost for us with the game on Saturday against Barnsley. With news of Roy O’Donovan out after his appendix was removed on Wednesday we were looking a little thin for attacking options.

Small started at Wimbledon and was at the club during the transition to MK Dons. He signed for Wednesday in 2006 but has dropped out of the team this season.

Brett Ormerod is back, I always thought that he would return to the club one day. He sat near me at the Blackpool V Preston game earlier this year and he wasn’t jumping up and down as the Preston goals went in that day. The news has been met with mixed response but I think it will be a good signing just for the boost it will give the players and hopefully the Bloomfield Road faithful.

Since leaving the club in December 2001 Brett went onto play for Southampton for five years, the highlight playing in the F.A. Cup final in 2003. During his spell at the saints he went on loan to Leeds and Wigan. He signed for Preston in 2006, loan spells followed with Nottingham Forest last year and Oldham this year.
He might be starting today against Crystal Palace. Lets hope for another goal like this!

We’ve hooked up again with Liverpool to bring a player on loan, this time it’s highly rated Hungarian Krisztian Nemeth. There’s plenty of hype about Nemeth after scoring a number of goal in the reserve team and 13 goals in 8 games for the Hungarian under 21′s.
He’s on loan for a month but hopefully it’s going to be extended if he does the business. Here’s the pick of the YouTube Videos.

We’ll we needed some signings and we’ve done well bringing in DJ Campbell till the end of the season and Graeme Owens from Boro for a month with a view to staying till the end of the season. DJ Campbell comes in from Leciester after he’s fallen out of the first team frame at the Walkers.

I have to say it’s a good signing as the lad (DJ) has a lot of page and is willing to run his socks off! With the signing being till the end of the season it looks more and more like Tony Parks will be staying in charge. If we were getting a new manager you would have thought we’d let the new gaffer make the signings?

Alan Gow has now signing for Blackpool. It appears that the deal was off this morning but loan deal has now been arranged. This morning the deal was for a £250,000 signing with a 3 year contract. This evening it’s been confirmed by the Rangers chairman, David Murray, that Gow would be signing on a long term deal.

He play either upfront, in midfield or on the wing, which seems pretty similar to GTF. Starting his career at Clydeank, he moved onto Airdrie United then Falkirk. His move to Rangers didn’t go to plan as never started a game with plenty of players ahead of him in the pecking order. Lets he gets some first team action at Pool!

Sone Aluko has departed Blackpool to join Aberdeen on a permanent contract. Akuko has been on loan at Blackpool from Birmingham and featured in a couple of matches. It’s the only confirmed news from today’s transfers as the deadline of 12:00pm approaches.
On Radio Lancashire tonight news from the club was that we were in talks with 2 players. Remember that the loan market remains market.

It’s Transfer Deadline Day and we’ve been in the market but no results. Rangers Striker Alan Gow has rejected a move to Blackpool after a fee of £250,000 was apparently agreed.
If there is any signing it’s going to happen in the text 11 hours, 22 minutes and 10 second.

We’ll the start of the season didn’t go to plan, to start I wasn’t at the match then Steve Brooker proved to be the party pooper smashing in a volley in the 89th min. Highlight Here. From that match reports it does seem that the team gelled well and we were unfortunate not to take at least a point from the match.
One good point is that we’ve brought in another player, Sone Aluko from Birmingham on loan. Aluko was part of the Aberdeen team that drew with Bayern Munich last season. He’s his goal from that game and another goal against Dundee in the SPL.
Roll on tomorrow night for the First Round of the League Cup against Macclesfield Town!
