Crewe 1 – 0 Blackpool FT

Posted on July 27, 2010

erm, that didn’t go to plan. First of all they looked very tired, Baptiste looked shattered as did GTF and Charlie. In the first half we played veyr poorly with Eardley in midfield and Husband at right back which seemed a strange decision. In the second we held the ball well but lacked any cutting edge and most importantly a striker.

As for the trialists.

A – Midfielder (Sunny)

Played well in the second half very much a defensive midfielder, did win the ball on many occasions not from touch tackles but from being quick and being able to turn away from his man. Did however give the ball away on a number of occasions, that may have been due to a lack of options ahead of him. He played the full 90. May be worth a deal on loan.

B- Winger, blond hair tall.

Did well in the first half infront of the Pool fans, beating his man a couple of times, taking the ball inside and also winning back possession.  Faded in the second half and bumped off the ball on numerous occasions. His only shot in the second half was nearer the corner flag than the goal, played about 75 mins.

C- Striker

Bulky forward very much in the fashion of Martins or Yakubu. Had a nice turn, run and shot in the first half but then wasn’t supplied with anything for the rest of the first half. Did well holding the ball up due to his strengh but only played 45.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that we need players in soon, with a striker being the priority. If you look at the three teams that went up last season all brought in a “big striker” in the summer, Fletcher – Burnley, Kevin Doyle – Wolves and Chucho Benitez – Birmingham.
