It took longer than expect, but we have the first signing of the season, Gary MacKenzie signs a two-year deal, with the view to a third from MK Dons. A fee was paid however we don’t know the exact amount. It’s good news to have him in, he was impressive last season, but that was with a dodgy pitch which meant many teams had to go long, playing to MacKenzie’s strengths.
We’ll soon find out how he in on the floor, but that depends on Ince’s plan of how the team decides to play.
There’s also news that his centre-half partner from last season Kirk Broadfoot is now back in talks with the club. There was speculation he would be moving to Barnsley, however he’s been back in talks most likely looking for an improved offer.
Tomorrow sees us back in action against Penrith, and apparently Tom Ince is going to play.
