You wait all summer for some transfer news and then it all kicks off when you go on holiday!
Great news over the past couple of days with two strikers coming into the club, Michael Chopra and Steve Davies.
Chopra of course is well know to everyone and if he can concentrate on the football could be a 20+ goals striker in the Championship with the right service. I can see him playing the middle role of the front three if we continue playing in that style. He could also drop off a little, depends if he still wants to play on the shoulder of the defenders.
Chopra will wear the number 8 shirt, the club did a quick interview with a competition to win a signed shirt on YouTube.
The second signing I’m really impressed with, Steve Davies from Bristol City and formally of Derby. He’s had a knack of scoring against us in the past. Last season he grabbed 13 goals for Bristol City.
Davies seems more suited to the central striker role, more of a target man. As for our formation up front it could start with Ince on the right, Davies in the middle with Chopra on the left if we play three upfront.
Attacking wise are options are looking good, even with Matty Phillips out with a broken arm and with not being 100% sure that Tom Ince will stay. We also have Bobby Grant who could be a good addition from the bench.
There’s still progress to be made, specifically a right-back, left-back and a centre-half. With maybe an attacking midfielder. Any other additions would be back up players.
Two names we are being linked with today are Stephen Hunt who was released by Wolves and Matt Mills the defender from Bolton.
