A mixed start to the season – Win a new shirt!

A mixed start to the season for us. You can’t argue with 6 points out of 6 in the league, however we still have a skeleton squad and suffered defeat in the derby in the League Cup first round, or as the Preston fans call it the World Cup Final.

It was pretty gutting to lose in the match, however in the grand scheme of the season more games is the last thing we need with such a small squad.

From the opening fixtures there has been some good points, Barry Ferguson has started where he left of last season really controlling the midfield. There’s potential in Davies and Chopra once they are fitter and have Ince and Phillips on the wing supplying crosses.

Jack Robinson at left back looks really good at left back, currently Bob Harris has very little chance of starting unless Robinson picks up an injury or is recalled by Liverpool. Once we have a right back Broadfoot can rejoin MacKenzie and it should be a solid unit.

We go into this weekends match with Reading with still no additions to the squad, Tom Ince suspended and no sign of a right back. It’s all a little doom and gloom.

Anyway to cheer us up, I saw that Kwit Fit Insurance are running a competition to win a new shirt for any club to celebrate the start of the new season. There’s 25 shirts up for grabs and all you have to do is head over to the Facebook page, like it and then post which team you support on the competition image on the Facebook page.

There’s 237 entries so far, so the odds are pretty good and this season’s shirt is one of the better ones!

20 Years of the Premier League 1992-2012 – Competition

Just in case you forgot, we were part of the Premier League, it may have only been for a season but our brief time in the league was pretty exciting. I doubt that any team made as much of an impact in one season in the top flight.

This year marks 20 years of the Premier League and to celebrate a magazine has been produced listing all 45 clubs to appear in the league and the highlights of each season.

There’s also facts and figures including; the top 10 memorable moments, top 10 tweets, where the league winners are now, an A-Z on everything you need to know and a chunky stat zone.

There’s also an all-time premier league table with 45 teams, placed us above Burnley and we come in at place 42.

The mag is on sale from the 19th July at a price of £5.99, however if you buy it from www.magbooks.com/mag-books/lifestyle/20-yea… you can get it for a discounted price of £5.22.

However, even better I have 3 copies of the magazine to give away for free. All you need to do is email magbookcomp@dennis.co.uk with the subject “BFC Blog Comp”.

All entries need to be submitted by the end of August. The three winners will be picked at random from all the entries and an email will be sent to the winners to ask for a delivery address.

Good luck!
