Bit of a lack of posts recently but tonight’s results deserves an update. From seeing the Wigan team and subs tonight a win looked always on the cards. After the four draws someone was going to ‘get it’ and it just happened to be an understrength Wigan side tonight.

It was great to see Demontagnac get a goal tonight, his confidence is growing all the time it was just a real shame to see him pull up with an injury. It was the first time for me seeing Neal Eardley who looked very comfortable at right back, he has great anticipation nipping in to intercept the ball and also good delivery from set pieces. I think that it could see in slotting in at right back for the rest of the season with Baps partnering Evatt at the back.
Burgess looked unfit and was his goal was a result of him not being able to run the ball to the net hence the shot from way out.
Overall a very enjoyable night at Bloomers, great to see a win under our belts with Coventry coming to the seaside at the weekend!
Ollie’s first game in charge ended in a 4-0 win today over Burscough thanks to two goal from Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Brett Ormerod and the last from Nardiello (looked like an o.g. to me). The 1st half team played really well with Baptiste solid at the back, Vaughan played in the middle with Southern, Clarke played wide left with GTF on the right.
Young Danny Mitchley played in the hole behind Ben Burgess but all were interchaning from left to right. The home side weren’t up to much until the second half when Richard Langley and co in the middle of the park didn’t hold any structure. It was interesting to see the front three that Ollie wants to use. I’m not sure at the moment we have the correct player to play in the ‘hole’ a certain Charlie Adams might fit in very well.

Over all it was a good day out in the sun, thanks to all that followed on the blackpool fc blog twitter account, for any matches I’m going to I’ll be providing updates and the odd picture.
So it’s the game after the Preston match and the sun is shining down over Lancashire.
The pitch isn’t looking great and I’ve just watch the groundsman flood the middle of the North half of the pitch. The centre spot is currently under a little puddle.
It looks like there will be one change to the starting line up. Ben Burgess isn’t warming up so Lee Hughes starts with Stephen McPhee coming onto the bench.
A point will do today!
A great win on Saturday over Birmingham recording the double over one of the favorites to gain promotion. It seems that DJ Campbell is settling in well with his second goal, but again the question raised is can we keep hold of him.

I missed the match this weekend, the re-arrangement wasn’t kind to me, I was in Birmingham for the weekend so it was enjoyable as the goals popped up on soccer Saturday in the pub in Birmingham.
I did however bump into some Blackpool players last Thursday in the cinema in Manchester. Ben Burgess (with crutches), Stephen McPhee and Daniel Nardiello all walked (hobbled) past. I think they were on the “injured strikers” night out to see Tom Cruise in Valkyrie! Let hope the nights out’s don’t continue for much longer as DJ Campbell can’t keep scoring ???
That’s the first time we’ve lost four games on the trot since the 2002-03 season. I wasn’t able to go tonight but from messages on the forums it’s seems some fans are getting on the backs of the players and Grayson which can’t help really when the players are obviously down and out.
If I had a bad day at work, made some mistakes and coded something wrong the last thing I’d want is someone ranting at me.
Joe Martin came in for Mo Camera tonight to start at left back, feedback was that he did well but it’s going to be essential to get Crainey back in the team and playing well. Poor Stephen McPhee came on as a sub and 5 minutes later he went off with an injury, not a good night at all.
Saturday we play Plymouth, I think the players will be grateful for an away game. Argyle have won 4 at home, drawn two and lost three, lets home for at least a point!
Well July has got off to a good start with the signing of Alex Baptiste from Mansfeild who by the sounds of it is a very promising defender. After the Stags were relegated out of the football league it was always on the cards that Baptiste would be leaving the club and it seams that we’ve paid a bit of a fee for him.

He’s a center back but can also play at right back and as been know to play the odd game in midfield. With Ian Evatt, Kaspars Gorkss and Shaun Barker all first team players Baptiste must come in as cover. As every with all new players I’ve searched for you tube videos, just the one with him being interviewed about an injury.
